8 mm drainage - TeMa Corporation

There are two main factors that influence the choice of construction methods for a synthetic turf soccer field: cost and construction time.

In addressing these issues, the goal is, on the one hand, to find a solution that allows for savings on materials and transportation costs and, on the other hand, to reduce installation time and waiting periods during construction.

One solution that meets both of these criteria and adds factory certification of its technical specifications is Q-Drain ZW 8 WP Football: a drainage geocomposite consisting of a core made by extruding synthetic polypropylene monofilaments—tangled and welded at their points of contact—coupled with a filtering non woven geotextile and a polyolefin membrane with butyl sealant along the selvedge.

On a standard soccer field, for example, it would be necessary to use 3,200 m³ for drainage; while with the geosynthetic only 8,000 m² would be needed, which can be transported in just one and a half trucks. This represents significant savings in time and resources.

The construction time for a soccer field using the TeMa Technologies and Materials method is approximately 21 days, compared to 40 days for a traditional system.
